The Spiral Abyss Domain is the quintessential area for all veteran Genshin Impact players and it just got a new floor. With every level of the Domain, the enemies and challenges only become harder as the rewards become rarer. However, the new floor added in the Luna III 6.2 update promises an extra difficulty spike. But how do you beat it? What teams do you need to master it? We’ll go over all the details about the new floor and its chambers.
🌀 What is the Spiral Abyss Domain?

The Spiral Abyss is a special Domain area that can only be accessed after reaching Adventure Rank 20. Even then, this Domain is considered to be meant for players who have stronger characters and parties built up. When you enter it, the Domain is split into several floors each fit with chambers. These chambers are filled with enemies for you to take on. The deeper you go though, the harder the enemies get. You can find the entrance to the Domain at the Musk Reef. When you decide that you’re ready to take on the Domain’s challenges, there are other parts to know about. The first to eight floors are called the Abyss Corridor, and the ninth to twelfth is called the Abyssal Moon Spire. After you beat the 12th floor, it’s pretty much a free-for-all from there. You can retry the floors as much as you’d like.
But the floors aren’t just about killing enemies. You have to complete the chambers on a set time limit. This limit makes up the majority of the challenge. If you’re not worried about dying, then you’re worried about damage and how quickly enemies go down at a time.
🧱 What Does Floor 12 Consist of?

The 12th Floor of the Spiral Abyss has a few key buffs that can sway how you build your party. The biggest is that for the first half of the chambers and time, all Pyro characters gain a 75% Pyro damage bonus. Meanwhile, the second half gets a Plunging Attack bonus also by 75%. Automatically you’ll want to take advantage of this almost double Pyro and Plunging buffs. Bring at least two Pyro and Plunging Attack characters with you.
As for the difficulty and enemy levels for this floor, expect them to be very high. Enemy levels will range from 95 to 100! This requires your characters to have some of the best Constellations, Artifacts, and weapons selected. Make sure they’re leveled up and ready while having a synergized team. Bringing a healer and plenty of food items doesn’t hurt either.
There’s one more addition to the floor and it’s another party effecter. Every floor has a set Blessing that works as an extra buff, but only under set conditions. For Floor 12, every enemy hit with the Swirl status will be hit with a shockwave created around them. This works for extra damage that’ll become much needed as you progress through the chambers. Along with Pyro, be sure to bring some Anemo party members for this effect.
💪 The Best Teams for Spiral Abyss Floor 12

Considering all of the major buffs with Pyro damage and Swirl, your main elements should be a mix between Pyro and Anemo. Besides that, at least for the first half of the floor, you don’t gotta worry about much else. Have as many DPS and Supports as you like with different Attack styles! Whatever works strongest for you should do best, though teams with Pyro characters like Durin and Arlecchino are some of the greatest damage picks.
As for the second half of Floor 12, you must pick characters with the Plunging Attack preference. The obvious choice here is Varesa. Her entire kit revolves around Plunging and she’s running in the current featured banner. Otherwise, Plunging characters Xiao can also work. However, also keep in mind the Pyro and Swirl elements here too. While the Pyro 75% buff doesn’t apply anymore, the Swirl blessing does.
💎 Floor 12’s Clear Rewards

Every chamber on Floor 12 gives a different set of rewards for clearing them. However, there’s also another set for getting a certain amount of stars. When you enter a chamber, you’ll see the star requirements at the top corner. Complete all three and you get the maximum number of rewards possible for the floor. If you’re looking to farm the chambers though, you can! You won’t get the full rewards like the first clear, but you’ll earn whatever you pick up throughout the floor and possibly some extra Domain Reliquaries.
